About Us

Five Freedoms Coffee is a veteran-owned vintage coffee camper serving bold brews with a bigger purpose.

Every cup fuels more than your day: it fuels real change.

By partnering with like-minded organizations, we proudly donate a portion of our profits and use our platform to raise awareness for those protecting and caring for animals in need.

We believe that by enjoying a delicious cup of coffee, our customers can contribute to a greater cause and make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in our community.

Fuel your day. Fuel their lives.

We’re an Air Force family originally from Kansas City. Like most things in military life, Five Freedoms Coffee came together over time.

We always had a vision to build something of our own. Eventually, we bought an old 1970s camper in Omaha Nebraska and started rebuilding it, with help from our neighbors, family, and a lot of late nights. What started as a project slowly became a coffee shop.

Before that, during our first duty station in Altus, Oklahoma, we adopted three dogs: Togo, Rue, and Sweetie from a local kill shelter. Sweetie was next in line. She was brought home anyway. Togo and Rue came from the same shelter. Those experiences stayed with us long after we moved on to Hickam AFB.

The name Five Freedoms comes from the Five Freedoms of animal welfare, a set of widely recognized standards focused on humane treatment. At its core, it reflects a belief that animals deserve safety, care, and the ability to live without fear. That idea shaped how we thought about building this business from the beginning.

Alongside that, there’s a deep respect for coffee as a craft. We care about how it’s sourced, how it’s prepared, and how it’s served. Our drinks are made by hand, our syrups are made in-house with simple ingredients, and we focus on getting the details right rather than pushing volume. The menu is intentionally small so we can be consistent, thoughtful, and present in every cup.

Brooke has always had a passion for both coffee and animals. When Five Freedoms Coffee took shape, those passions came together in one place. We keep the menu simple, hold ourselves to a high standard, and donate a portion of our proceeds each quarter to animal welfare organizations we believe in.

The drinks named after our dogs are there to remember where this started. The rest is just showing up every day and doing the work well.

Signature Drinks

Our signature drinks are named after our shelter dogs: Togo, Rue, and Sweetie. Each one reflects their personality and the role they’ve played in our lives, and serves as a small nod to where Five Freedoms Coffee began.

Togo

Horchata + Two Shots of Espresso

Togo came from a kill shelter in Altus, Oklahoma the kind of place where time runs out fast and second chances are rare. A brown husky mutt with a bold streak and more energy than common sense, he was never meant to sit quietly in the background.

Togo is sweet but spunky, dependable, and fiercely loyal. The kind of dog that’s always alert, always ready, always all in.

That’s why his drink doesn’t hold back. House-made horchata for warmth and comfort, paired with two shots of smooth espresso for the wired, go-all-day energy he brings into every room. It’s rich, fast, and unapologetic, just like him.

Order Togo when you need something that shows up and doesn’t quit.

Rue

Vanilla Cold Brew + Cream & Honey

Rue also came out of a kill shelter in Altus, Oklahoma, but her story is quieter. A white lab mix with a gentle heart, she’s sweet, energetic, and effortlessly kind. The type of dog that doesn’t demand attention, she earns it.

Rue has a calm confidence about her. She’s playful without being wild, loving without being needy. The kind of presence that makes a space feel lighter just by being in it.

Her drink mirrors that balance. Rich vanilla cold brew for depth, softened with cream and finished with a honey drizzle. Smooth, approachable, and comforting without being boring.

Rue reminds us that not everything has to be loud to be powerful.

Sweetie

Oat Milk Lavender Latte + Honey

Sweetie’s story is the reason Five Freedoms Coffee exists.

She came from a kill shelter in Altus, Oklahoma and was next in line. No dramatic rescue, just timing, choice, and someone willing to step in. Brooke met her when Sweetie was barely a year old. Skittish, unsure, and guarded around people, Sweetie didn’t trust easily, until she did.

Now she’s 12 years old. Thriving. Protective. Loyal. Still soft at her core.

Her drink is gentle but intentional. Creamy oat milk, calming lavender, and a touch of honey — warm or iced, steady and grounding. It’s not flashy. It doesn’t rush you. It stays.

Every Sweetie ordered is a reminder of what happens when dogs are given time, care, and dignity instead of a deadline.
